KidsCo has recruited two ex-Disney execs, Loc Autret and Chris Nicholls. The NBCU, Nelvana and Cookie Jar-backed kids broadcaster said it made the hires as it embarks on a push to get distribution on Europe’s major pay TV platforms, particularly in Western Europe.
As general manager of global distribution, Autret will attempt to drive the channel’s footprint around the world. At Disney, he was director of channel distribution, EMEA. Nicholls joins from Disney-backed sports broadcaster ESPN where he was sales director and will be global head of sales and marketing at KidsCo.
Paul Robinson, CEO at KidsCo, said: This year our mission is to not only increase the number of countries currently airing KidsCo’s exclusive, classic and original content, but to really focus on breaking into the top three global kids TV channels, while at the same time increasing revenue via advertising platforms.
