Sistema appoints telecommunications and media chief

Russian MSO Sistema has appointed Ron Sommer to lead the company’s telecommunications and media business.

Sommer becomes vice-president of Sistema and head of its telecommunications and media business, which includes triple-play operator Comstar and mobile operator MTS. In 2005, Sommer  was elected to Sistema’s board of directors as an independent director.
