KPN confirms Hageman as CFO

Dutch telco KPN has named Eric Hageman as its new full-time chief financial officer. Hageman was named as interim chief financial officer in January. He was previously CEO of KPN Belgium. Jos Donvil has meanwhile been named as CEO of KPN Belgium in Hageman’s place. Donvil was previously chief operating officer of the Belgian operation.

HBO channels deal with KPN

KPN adds IPTV subs but Digitenne continues to decline

Dutch telco KPN added 79,000 IPTV subscribers in the first quarter, taking the total for its Interactieve TV service to 652,000. KPN adding HBO channels


Dutch telco and IPTV service operator KPN is expected to add three local HBO channels to its programming line-up shortly. HBO launched a three-channel bouquet in association with cabler Ziggo in the Netherlands earlier this year and KPN is reportedly about to start carrying the trio of channels: HBO, HBO2 and HBO3.

KPN launches Penthouse HD

KPN names home consumer chief

KPN has appointed Jesper Eriksen as senior executive vice-president, home consumer for the Netherlands. Eriksen replaces Joost Farwerck, who was recently appointed managing director of KPN Netherlands. He was previously head of the consumer division for Danish telco TDC.

ABC on-demand launching on KPN

Disney has inked a deal with KPN in the Netherlands and will launch its branded video-on-demand service on its pay TV system. ABC TV On Demand will offer KPN subs TV series and movies from Disney including Lost and Desperate Housewives.

KPN nears 1.5 million IPTV subs

Dutch telco KPN increased its TV market share by two percentage points last year, ending December with a 17% share. The incumbent telco ended 2011 with 1.4 million IPTV subscribers, including 573,000 IPTV customers, up 84,000 in the fourth quarter and up from 302,000 in 2010.
