KPN increases TV market share with IPTV growth

Dutch telco KPN has increased its TV market share to 19% after adding 89,000 IPTV subscribers in the second quarter. The telco ended June with a total of 741,000, up from 416,000 a year earlier. Mediaset Italia will get distributed in the Netherlands following the agreement of carriage deals with KPN and Caiway. The channel is a best-of offering showcasing content from Italian media group Mediaset’s domestic services and is represented by Chello Zone, which concluded the deals. KPN confirms Hageman as CFO

Dutch telco KPN has named Eric Hageman as its new full-time chief financial officer. Hageman was named as interim chief financial officer in January. He was previously CEO of KPN Belgium. Jos Donvil has meanwhile been named as CEO of KPN Belgium in Hageman’s place. Donvil was previously chief operating officer of the Belgian operation.

KPN adding HBO channels

Dutch telco and IPTV service operator KPN is expected to add three local HBO channels to its programming line-up shortly. HBO launched a three-channel bouquet in association with cabler Ziggo in the Netherlands earlier this year and KPN is reportedly about to start carrying the trio of channels: HBO, HBO2 and HBO3.
