Amazon Prime Video secures Professional Pickleball Tour rights

Amazon Prime Video has inked a multi-year agreement with Carvana Professional Pickleball Association (PPA) Tour for the exclusive global streaming rights to four live PPA Tour events per year and the 2023-24 PPA World Championship Series.

Prime Video will begin coverage of the sports event today May 18, broadcasted from Georgia USA. The four days of tournament coverage will begin at 10:00 a.m. EDT daily.

The 2018-founded Carvana PPA Tour is the professional tour of pickleball, organisng events and rankings for the top male and female pickleball players worldwide. It is set to host 25 events in 2023 across the US. The Carvana PPA Tour is operated by parent corporation, Pickleball.com.

PPA Tour events will be can be streamed across a number of compatible devices, streaming from the web, or using the Prime Video app on smartphones, tablets, set-top boxes, game consoles, and connected TVs.

Connor Pardoe, CEO and cofounder of the Pro Pickleball Association, described the deal “monumental” to CNBC. He added, “It’s important for the evolution of the pro game, the game as a whole, and a nice step forward for the professional players,”

Amazon Prime Video also recently retained its exclusive rights in to broadcast the evening sessions of the Roland-Garros tennis tournament in France through to 2027. It extends the partnership with the French Tennis Association for another four years.
