French broadband base continues to grow
France had 19.145 million fixed broadband subscribers at the end of September, up 11% year-on-year, according to the latest figures released by telecom regulator ARCEP.
The number included 255,000 very high-speed subscribers, of which 60,000 were connected to fibre-to-the-home services, with the remainder connected to Numericables high-speed HFC network.
ARCEP reported that 36,000 residential buildings had been connected to fibre, meaning that some 740,000 households could access FTTH services, up 14% quarter-on-quarter.
