Telenet announces social internet packages
Belgian cable operator Telenet has announced a series of special social rate tariffs for its internet packages targeted at less well-off customers.
The special rates, which will be offered to qualified customers who already benefit from the operatorÂs existing social rates for telephony, will provide a discount of Â7 for internet access across its packages. TelenetÂs BasicNet service will be offered for Â13 a month instead of Â20. The operator will also offer Â7 off its ComfortNet, ExpressNet and TurboNet packages.
About 360,000 subscribers currently benefit from social-rate telephony services from Telenet, which provides a similar discount for analogue TV access.Â
