LuxGovSat names SES veteran as CEO

LuxGovSat, a new joint venture between satellite operator SES and the Luxembourg government, has appointed SES veteran Patrick Biewer as its chief executive officer. 

Biewer, who has been at SES for 22 years, will oversee commercial activities and customer relations management at LuxGovSat and takes up the CEO post effective July 1.

Since 2010 he has been managing director of SES Broadband Services.

LuxGovSat ordered the SES-16/GovSat satellite from manufacturer Orbital ATK in February. The company’s objectives are the acquisition, launch and the operation of a satellite for governmental and military communication services.
