GE expected to close NBC Universal deal this week

US conglomerate GE’s deal to acquire French conglomerate Vivendi’s stake in NBC Universal is expected to close this week.

The deal to acquire Vivendi’s 20% stake in the US networks and studio for US$5.8bn (€3.8bn) is expected to close on Thursday. This deal is expected to pave the way for US cable giant Comcast’s acquisition of a majority share in NBC Universal.
