Free adds home media functionality

French service provider Free has added home-networking functionality to its Freebox HD offer to enable subscribers to view photos and their own video content stored on a PC on their TVs via a UPnP connection.

Free’s Multi TV subscribers will also be able to view content stored on their computers on a second TV set.

The service is available via the Freebox’s Magnéto menu at no extra charge.
