UPC Netherlands reports strong growth in VOD use

Cable operator UPC Netherlands said that its customers requested 47.5 million video-on-demand streams in 2009, up 45% year-on-year.

The number of customers using VOD grew by 40% compared with 2008. The most popular movie on the platform was Oorlogswinter, and the most popular TV show was Sex and the City. The Dutch public broadcasters’ catch-up service also proved popular.
