Sky Deutschland agrees capital increase, names new board members

Sky Deutschland shareholders agreed a capital increase at the pay-TV operator’s AGM on Friday.

The company’s capital could be increased by up to 50% from the current €539.16m. The decision means Sky Deutschland will have initiated seven capital increases in the five years since it went public. New CEO Brian Sullivan recently said the pay-TV operator had no plans for a further capital increase during the next 12 months.

Sky Deutschland has added three new members to its supervisory board. Chase Carey, deputy chairman, president and chief operating officer of News Corp, Miriam Kraus, senior vice-president, global governance, risk and compliance at SAP, and Katrin Wehr-Seiter, a self-employed business and investment consultant, are the latest members of the board, which will now consist of nine members.
