UPC Netherlands to broadcast golf in 3D

Cable operator UPC Netherlands is to show the Augusta Masters golf tournament on April 11 in 3D.

The tournament will be the first event broadcast by the cable operator in the format. UPC plans to collaborate with TV manufacturer Samsung and Hollywood studio Disney to offer more 3D events later in the year, beginning with the broadcast of Toy Story and Toy Story 2 in 3D.
