Kinowelt to launch HD channel

German pay TV movie channel Kinowelt is launching in an HD version, according to local reports.

The service will launch on the Unitymedia cable platform on May 29 as a simulcast of the existing SD channel, kicking off with a showing of French nature documentary March of the Penguins, followed by Woody Allen’s Whatever Works and horror movie Paranormal Activity.
