Volia could stop broadcasting Russian channels in legislation row

Ukrainian cable operator Volia is planning to stop broadcasting some
Russian TV channels from November in response to instructions from the
country’s National TV and Radio Broadcasting Council, according to
local reports.
The National TV and Radio Broadcasting Council has asked operators to stop broadcasting foreign TV channels that do not comply with Ukrainian legislation. However, the Russian Telecommunications and Mass Communications Ministry has appealed to the Ukrainian authorities to stop discriminating against Russian-language television channels, arguing that BBC, CNN and Euronews channels that broadcast in Russian are not facing any restrictions.
