Bertelsmann revises guidance after strong RTL results
Bertelsmann has raised full-year guidance after several of its divisions, notably pan-European broadcast group RTL, reported healthy growth in advertising revenues in the first half of the year.
The media conglomerate cited RTLs strong performance and that of its newspaper and publishing divisions as it lifted full-year profit guidance to over Â500m. Previous expectations were for profit in the Â400 to Â500m range.
ÂWe are raising our forecast for the full year, said BertelsmannÂs CFO Thomas Rabe. ÂInstead of the stable revenue and operating EBIT performance predicted at the Annual Press Conference in March, we now expect to see a year-on-year increase in both.Â
