Russian regulator demands sale of Ryazan network
The Russian anti-monopoly regulator has approved the acquisition by MTS of Comstar-UTSs regional operations on condition that the company sells its assets in the Ryazan area in central Russia, according to local reports.
The regulator has made its ruling on the basis that the acquisition would give MTS a dominant position in the Ryazan cable TV market. However, MTS has argued that it would be more logical to take into account the total TV distribution market, according to the reports.
