World Darts Championship final records highest peak audience for Sky Sports

The World Darts Championship final secured Sky Sports record-breaking TV audience numbers, drawing an audience of nearly 5 million and peaking at 3.71 million viewers, making it Sky Sport’s highest ever non-football peak. 

The final which saw reigning champion Luke Humphries beat 16-year-old Luke Littler on Wednesday, attracted more than 4.8 million viewers. It represents 143% increase compared to the 2023 final.

The pay TV operator noted it saw overall engagement significantly increase across its digital platforms following the match, gaining 27.6 million video views across Sky Sports’ social channels. It also see engagement boost across the Sky Sports app and website, with 2.44 million following the live blog.

Sky Sports delivers extensive coverage of leading darts competitions, including exclusively live broadcasts of the World Darts Championship plus the Premier League, World Matchplay, Grand Slam of Darts, World Grand Prix and World Cup of Darts. Sky has since commissioned a new three-part darts documentary series.
