LG Electronics unveils LG Channels 3.0

LG ChannelsLG Electronics (LG) has unveiled the latest upgrades to its free streaming service, LG Channels. 

LG Channels 3.0, the new revamped FAST platform, features a new UI with an improved navigation tool, more engaging placements for content discovery, and an enhanced channel guide to easily discover content, according to the electronics manufacturer.

The new service will roll out in South Korea this month and will later launch in other markets, including the US, from October.

The new UI is organised into three pages – Home, Live and On Demand. The Home page includes a large, highly visible rotating carousel at the top of the screen to provide easy access to featured channels, curated collections and on demand content. The Live page, enables users to play live broadcast channels directly from within the LG Channels app.

While, the On Demand tab allows users to select their favourite types of content including movies, TV shows and receive recommendations from the Popular Now category to ensure a seamless watching experience.

LG operates across 27 territories including the US, Canada, Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Peru, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, UK, South Korea, Australia, Japan

The company said it is accelerating the growth of its content service by entering new territories and adding to its line-up of content.
