Amazon Freevee adds NBCU and UKTV channels to UK FAST line up

Amazon Freevee is continuing to ramp up its UK FAST channel offering with the addition of new services from NBCUniversal and UKTV. There are also plans for an additional five channels from Amazon-owned MGM later this autumn.

The NBCUniversal channels mark the Comcast-owned company’s first foray into FAST outside the US. Already live, they are based around unscripted series such as The Real Housewives, Million Dollar Listing and Top Chef, alongside classic titles including Xena: Warrior Princess, Northern Exposure and The Bionic Woman.

UKTV’s FAST channels are more genre-focused. They include UKTV Play Laughs, UKTV Play Full Throttle, UKTV Play Heroes and UKTV Play Uncovered.

Meanwhile, Amazon’s continued efforts to exploit its MGM library will see the launch of six single-title FAST Channels – Paternity Court, In the Heat of the Night, The Addams Family, The Outer Limits and The Pink Panther. According to Freevee, this is the first time MGM FAST Channels will be available to customers in the UK.

Over the last year, Amazon Freevee has rapidly expanded its UK FAST offering. The current slate of channels includes Best of Neighbours, CNN FAST, Inside Crime, Ghost Hunters, Iron Chef, Hell’s Kitchen, Vevo Pop and XITE Hits.
