Movistar Plus+ gets new directors

Telefónica has appointed three new directors to the administrative board of Telefónica Audiovisual Digital, the unit that includes streaming service Movistar Plus+.

The telco has added Verónica Pascual, Rosauro Varo and Iván Bohórquez to its leadership line-up.

Pascual currently heads technology investment outfit ALBP Corp, having previously led a number of digital companies as an entrepreneur in the space, including ASTI Mobile Robotics Corp. She has been a member of the Telefónica board of directors since 2019 and sits on the Telefónica Tech advisory council.

Varo is president of GAT Investments, which invdesgts in secutros including tourism, real estate, telecoms and technology. He served as VP of MVNO PepePhone and is currently also a director and VP of publishing outfit Grupo Prisa. He also sits on the boards of Acciona Energía and the Círculo de Empresarios del Sur de España (CESUR).

Bohorquez is the founder of renewable energy company Smartener, which is also active in agribusiness technology through the Cortijo de la Peñuela holding company. Bohorquez is also active in real estate development.

The changes mean that the Movistar Plus+ board now comprises Sergio Oslé Varona, president; Daniel García-Pita Pemán, vice-president; Rosauro Varo Rodríguez, vice-president; and Cristina Burzako Samper, executive director, alongside members Antonio Alonso Ureba, Yolanda Barcina Angulo, Iván Bohórquez Domecq, Javier de Paz Mancho, José Javier Echenique Landiribar and Verónica Pascual Boé.

Clara Ruipérez de Azcárate holds the non-director position of secretary of the board.
