Digi boosted by strong pay TV, broadband and mobile growth

Romania-based service provider Digi saw a 16% increase in revenue-generating units in the year to March, helping drive revenue growth of 11% year-on-year in Q1.

The group recorded 21.6 million RGUs at the end of the quarter. Q1 revenues stood at €399 million, while adjusted EBITDA was up 7.5% to €113 million.

Mobile telephony drove the lion’s share of the RGU rise. Mobile RGUs reached 9.6 million at the end of Q1, but broadband and pay TV numbers were also up.

In Romania, mobile services reached 5.2 million RGUs, up 19.1%, compared to the first quarter of 2022.

Fixed internet services registered an increase of 11.2%, compared to the same period last year, landing at 4.3 million RGUs, while pay TV services (cable and satellite) increased by 6.2% to 5.5 million RGUs.

Digi’s operation in Spain recorded a strong performance with a 68% increase in the number of users of fixed services (fixed Internet and fixed telephony) compared to the same period of the previous year, to 1.3 million RGUs. The number of mobile users increased by 26% and reached a total of four million RGUs.
