Tanya Giles departs Paramount as chief programming officer

Tanya Giles

Tanya Giles is reportedly stepping down from her role at Paramount as chief programming officer for streaming, with no immediate replacement according to Deadline.

Giles was promoted from her role general manager of the MTV Entertainment Group to chief programming officer for streaming in 2021. She leaves Paramount+ after spending 28 years working at the wider brand. During her role she was responsible for creating the content strategy for the streamer and its AVOD service Pluto TV globally.

Her departure comes following Paramount+ plans to integrate its flagship Showtime brand into its streaming service which has resulted in a restructure of the company’s leadership teams. The announcement made in January has since seen the exits of Paramount+ former CEO and chairman Jim Gianopulos and Showtime’s exec David Nevins from the company.

Giles launched her career working at CBS as a research analyst before joining Paramount in 1995. She has held stints across its brands including MTV Entertainment Group, Comedy Central and Nickelodeon.
