Stranger Things heads Parrots’ top 10 for Spain

Netflix’s Stranger Things continues to dominate as it takes the lead in Parrot Analytics’ latest snapshot of the most ‘in-demand’ digital original content in Spain.

Parrot Analytics analyses the demand for recent popular digital titles across international markets, based on the application of artificial intelligence to expressions of demand across social media, fan sites, peer-to-peer protocols and file-sharing platforms.

Parrot’s dataset compares the demand that exists for each series in this market, against the average TV show. A difference of 1x represents the market average and 10x means a series is 10 times more in demand than the average TV show in this market.

Parrot’s list of the most in-demand content in Spain for the week 29 January – 04 February, 2023 was topped by Netflix’s Stranger Things scoring 23.61 times the average TV show rating. Runner up was Disney’s The Mandalorian which was 21.11 times more in-demand than the average.

Overall, Netflix’s was a frequent flyer amongst the Parrot Analytics’ line up with its Spanish originals Money Heist landing fourth and The Snow Girl closely followed behind at sixth.

The Amazon Prime Video series, The Boys, came in at number five while the streamer’s Spanish original, El Cid, neared the bottom of the chart clocking in at nine.

HBO MAX’s Veneno. Vida Y Muerte De Un Icono, Hulu’s The Handmaid’s Tale and La Resistancia on Spain’s local commercial television channel #0 por Movistar Plus+ also made an appearance on the list.
