EURONEWS on Shahid

International news channel Euronews has partnered with the Arabic streaming platform Shahid to deliver international news to the platform’s Middle East and North Africa (MENA) audience.

Founded in 1993, Euronews is available in more than 400 million households among 160 nations. The partnership will make Euronews the first and only international non-Arab media news channel on the streamer’s viewing platform.

Shahid a part of MBC GROUP, offers a dual service of ad-free subscription viewing (SVOD) which will run in tandem alongside advertisement-based video-on-demand (AVOD).

Maxime Carboni, director worldwide distribution, at Euronews said: “As a trusted source of news, this new partnership between Euronews and Shahid will give its subscribers a reliable view of events happening globally, as well as insights of external perspectives on the Arab world. In a world of increasing disinformation, the continued development of digital distribution with premium partners like Shahid is fundamental for Euronews to strengthen its leading position towards new audiences.”

Natasha Matos-Hemingway, chief commercial and marketing officer at Shahid, added: “At Shahid, we continuously strive to provide the very best in news, entertainment, and other programming, and therefore we are delighted to welcome Euronews to our platform, where subscribers in MENA and the rest of the world will be able to access up-to-the-minute trusted impartial international news. Being the first and only international non-Arabic language media source on Shahid will allow viewers to access news content in several languages, including English and French.”
