Sky Italia adds RAI and Mediaset channels to Sky Go app in Italy

Sky Italia has announced that all of Italy’s main TV channels, those operated by Rai, Mediaset and La7, are now all available through its Sky Go app.

According to the Comcast-owned platform, the Sky app is the first in Italy to bring together all of the main Italian free-to-air channels with Sky’s range of channels and on-demand content. The service is available at no additional cost to Sky subscribers.

Active in the market for 10 years, Sky Go in Italy already offers around 50 channels and thousands of hours of content across scripted, entertainment, factual, kids and sport. However the ability to watch Rai 1, Rai 2, Rai 3, Rete 4, Canale 5, Italia 1 and La7 across devices via the same platform will be a welcome addition. Until now, consumers that wanted to see all of the above content have had to jump between apps including Sky Go, Rai Play and Mediaset Infinity.

Under CEO Andrea Duilio, who joined from Vodafone in 2021, Sky Italia has been investing heavily in a bid to fend off competition from Netflix, Disney+ and Amazon Prime. It has upped its expenditure on original content and also added DAZN to its platform last year – in order to regain access to Serie A football for its customers. September 2022 also saw the launch of integrated smart TV Sky Glass in Italy.
