Miszczak named programme director at Telewizja Polsat

Telewizja Polsat, the largest commercial broadcaster in Poland, has named TV industry veteran Edward Miszczak as its new programme director.

Miszczak, who will take up his post on January 16, 2023 will also be a VP of the management board. At the same time, Nina Terentiew, current programming director, will step down but become a member of the Telewizja Polsat supervisory board.

A well-known figure, Miszczak was previously programming director at rival broadcaster TVN, part of Warner Bros. Discovery. He left that post in June 2022.

Telewizja Polsat is the free to air arm of Polsat Plus, a diversified group that also owns leading PayTV provider Cyfrowy Polsat as well as various telecoms and streaming services. In June 2022, it became the first Polish operator to integrate streamer Disney+, making the service available across its PayTV, telco and mobile platforms.

At time of writing Polsat Plus has around 6 million B2B and B2C contract customers, and the group’s divisions provide a total of over 20 million active services.
