PFL launches European spin-off

The Professional Fighters League (PFL) has announced the launch of a European spin-off to debut in 2023.

PFL Europe will stage all of its events in European countries and be broadcast during prime time – a move which should provide some welcome relief to European fight fans who are used to start times from Vegas in the middle of the night.

The inaugural events will take place on August 13 in Cardiff and August 20 in London, with fighters such as the UK’s Dakota Ditcheva, Ireland’s Will Fleury, Italy’s Francesco Nuzzi and Scotland’s Louie Sutherland featured on the cards.

The PFL is yet to announce broadcast partners for its new European venture, but it currently is broadcast and streamed to 160 countries with partners including ESPN, Channel 4, DirecTV, RMC Sport, Eurosport and Sky Sports.

PFL CEO Peter Murray, said: “I am pleased to announce the PFL will launch PFL Europe in 2023 to further advance the sport of MMA and fuel PFL’s next phase of global expansion starting in Europe, the number one international MMA growth region. Europe is rich with top fighters who are ready to compete in the PFL’s season format on a major stage and passionate MMA fans throughout the region will now have access to premium events staged in Europe.”
