Kyivstar launches new Android TV STB with inext

Ukrainian pay TV operator Kyivstar has selected inext to supply its next-generation set-top boxes.

Kyivstar TV, which first launched in 2019, offers more than 320 TV channels including more than 100 in HD and an on-demand library featuring more than 20,000 movies and shows.

The new inext TV-X set-top box for Kyivstar (the Allwinner H313) features a customised version of Android 10. It also features dual-band Wi-Fi AC (IEEE 802.11ac), and the latest Bluetooth 5.0 tech.

Pavel Rybak, head of Kyivstar TV project, said: “Through the course of lasting development and adjustment of our system and thanks to the cooperative efforts of both Kyivstar TV and inext teams the most effective solution was brought in – inext TV-X, an exclusive set-top box designed to provide the best experience of Kyivstar TV service.”

Maksym Schygol, product manager at inext in Romsat company, said: “We’ve received a request from one of the biggest OTT services in Ukraine – Kyivstar TV to develop an up-to-date set-top box model for its service featured with Bluetooth support, in order to connect external devices and use the media player as a home entertainment center, as well as 5 GHz AC Wi-Fi for the best internet connection.”
