Playground TV hires chief technology officer

Kids streaming service Playground TV has announced the appointment of former Fox and Comcast exec Vinayan Verenkar as its chief technology officer.

Verenkar joins with over 14 years of experience in the OTT space, during which time he was charged with managing FOXNOW and Xfinity on-demand. He also oversaw the launch of Network18’s OTT platforms across PAN India and Southeast Asia.

Immediately prior to joining Playground, Verenkar served in the leadership team of Astro as the chief OTT officer for Astro Go and TribeTV.

Playground TV launched in late-2020, and is a free-to-view service that helps kids discover safe and engaging video content in their native language
