Parrot Analytics: Money Heist continues to print ratings for Netflix

La Casa de Papel

As it approaches its final part in December, Spanish-Language phenomenon La Casa De Papel (Money Heist) continues to resonate with audiences, topping Parrot Analytics’ originals in-demand chart for the week ending October 2 in Belgium.

Parrot Analytics analyses the demand for recent popular digital titles across international markets, based on the application of artificial intelligence to expressions of demand across social media, fan sites, peer-to-peer protocols and file-sharing platforms. The analyst illustrates demand expressions based on how much more popular a charted title is than an average TV show.

The crime series launched the first part of its final season at the beginning of September, with five episodes to whet the appetite for what is sure to be a dramatic finale. In terms of the show’s popularity, it was 14.24 times more in demand than the market average.

Netflix’s perennial hit Stranger Things also features in the chart in second place with 14.07 times the demand of an average show while the Korean series that is taking the world by storm, Squid Game only managed fifth place (11.8 times more in demand). Netflix’s Lucifer also features in the chart.

Between Hulu and Disney+, the mouse house is even more prominent on the list with half the total titles. From Disney+ there is familiar IP fare The Mandalorian in third, WandaVision in sixth and Loki in tenth. Hulu’s bleak dystopia The Handmaid’s Tale is in seventh while the murder-mystery dramady Only Murders In The Building is in ninth.

Rounding out the list is a sole title from Apple TV+, with Ted Lasso continuing to prove popular as it approaches the end of its second season.
