Online and linear wildlife and nature channel Love Nature has launched in more than 25 African countries on pay-TV platform Les Bouquets Canal+.
Love Nature, a joint venture between Blue Ant Media and Smithsonian Networks, is now available in more than 100 countries on pay-TV platforms such as Sky, Rogers, Virgin and Starhub, as well as streaming outlets like The Roku Channel, Amazon Channels, Apple Plus and Pluto TV.
Content highlights on the service include Icon Films’ 6 x 60-minute series Malawi Wildlife Rescue, which takes a look inside the country’s only wildlife rescue centre that cares for injured and abandoned animals until they are ready to be released back into the wild.
Oxford Scientific Films’ 5 x 60-minute series Dogs With Extraordinary Jobs explores “the extraordinary jobs four-legged friends undertake across the globe”.
Meanwhile, Plimsoll Production’s 18 x 60-minute series Africa’s Hunters takes a look at the lives of some of Zambia’s most formidable predators – including lions, leopards and hyenas.
“Bringing Love Nature to Canal+ audiences is a significant milestone for the channel as we expand the family-friendly brand’s footprint across Africa,” said Ward Platt, CEO, global networks and kids, Blue Ant Media. “This deal is a great example of our commitment to partnering with platforms around the world to give our premium wildlife and nature programming content a truly global audience.”
Alexandre Gruner, SVP channels acquisitions and partnerships, Canal+ International, added: “Love Nature reinforces our discovery channels’ offering, bringing more series and documentaries dedicated to nature. This new content will be very appreciated by our subscribers in African countries.”
