Dedicated esports channel launches on Samsung TV Plus

Esports channel ESTV has launched on Samsung TV Plus.

The channel claims to be the first linear channel in the world to be fully dedicated to esports and gaming personalities. Programming includes gaming news, shows and coverage; competitive gaming team analysis and player content; casual mainstream gaming news; live streaming event broadcasting; and syndicated late night talk shows and interviews.

Eric Yoon, founder and CEO of ESTV said: “We are thrilled to be partnering with Samsung to feature ESTV esports channel on its Samsung TV Plus platform. Casual gamers and gaming enthusiasts alike can now find round-the-clock esports and esports-related video content for free on their Samsung Smart TVs.”

ESTV launched in May 2019 and is also available for free on Amazon Fire TV and Roku. The company promises that it will soon be available on a range of other platforms including Vizio and Sling.

Elsewhere in esports, the European Tour has partnered with live events company DreamHack to launch golf’s first esports series. The European eTour will see players go head-to-head in popular game World Golf Tour (WGT) by Topgolf.

The tour will consist of six events that coincide with European Tour events during 2020. The final will take place during the DP World Tour Championship in Dubai at the Jumeirah Golf Estates on 19-22 November.
