SonyLIV partners with QYOU Media to launch ‘The Q India’

Youth broadcaster QYou Media has partnered with SonyLIV, Sony Liv an Indian general entertainment OTT platform owned by Sony Pictures Networks India, to The Q India’s linear stream of content to Indian homes.

It is expected that, according to the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry, India will become the second largest video-viewing audience globally, with the growth of Internet users estimated to reach 829 Million by 2021. As such, the digital video market in India is growing at a rapid pace and is expected to exceed 500 million by the 2020.

SonyLIV claims to be one of the fastest growing OTT services in the country with, reported 7X consumption growth in the last year. In a statement, QYou said that this ‘demonstrates the growing appetite for premium digital-first content’.
