Dutch telco KPN saw its TV base decline slightly in 2018 as losses at digital-terrestrial service Digitenne outweighed modest gains in its IPTV base.
KPN ended the year with 2.373 million TV customers, including 2.168 million IPTV customers – up 2.5% – and 205,000 Digitenne and analogue customers – down 22%. The telco maintained a 32% share of the TV subscriber market overall.
KPN’s base of bundled customers was 2.566 million, at the end of Q4, down 0.6%.
KPN added 22,000 IPTV customers in the fourth quarter. The company said that convergence was delivering for it, with 70% of post-paid mobile customers now in fixed-mobile bundles, up from 65%. ARPU per household increased by 4.3% to €46.
