Linear ad-supported OTT TV service Pluto TV is to ramp up its free offering in the UK with three pop-up channels over the holiday season, while winter sports specials will introduce new permanent channel Pluto TV Action Sports.
Pop-up Channel Pluto TV Xmas will show Christmas themed episodes of kids series and family movies, along with cooking specials. Pluto TV Holiday Lights and Pluto TV Fireplace will meanwhile show displays of holiday lighting and a “homely fireplace” respectively all day long.
New channel Pluto TV Action Sports will meanwhile provide a diet of winter sports as well as, from next year, activities ranging from urban skateboarding to off-road motorcross and surfing.
All special channels are available from now to January 7, 2019 exclusively on Pluto TV in the UK.
“Our holiday special illustrates Pluto TV’s ability to cater to special events and moods with perfectly matching content” said Olivier Jollet, managing director Europe at Pluto TV. “We are creating a linear lean back experience, but that doesn’t mean we cannot adapt to special seasons and moods instantly. Our holiday package offers content for everyone on their terms, relaxing on the couch or sitting on the edge of the seat. That makes our channels the perfect environment for advertisers. Flexible, topical and through classic commercial breaks, highly viewable.”
Pluto TV recently unveiled plans to launch in Germany, Austria and Switzerland in the near future, following its launch in the UK on the Now TV platform and Roku devices at the beginning of October.
