M7 secures raft of distribution partners in Germany

International pay TV operator M7 Group’s German arm M7 Deutschland has secured distribution agreement with eight new partners from the public utility sector.

M7 has struck agreements to distribute its services via the networks of Thüga SmartService, BiTel, K-net Telekommunikation, Stadtwerke Erkrath, OstTelCom, EmslandTel.Net and bn: t Blatzheim Networks Telecom.

M7 said its DVB-IP white label offering for IPTV network operators, which bundles licences for 140 free and pay TV channels and international channel packages in nine languages had been successful. The offering includes three basic packages – BasisHD, FamilyHD and InternationalHD – and is delivered via satellite through M7’s direct-to-cable platform.

Martijn van Hout, vice-president and country manager for Germany and Austria at M7 Group said that the agreements had further consolidated M7’s position as the market leader for the supply of turnkey wholesale products and innovative IPTV services in the German market. He said that the deals confirmed the value of the group’s offering for IPTV providers and municipalities.

M7 launched a hybrid IP and DTH service for the German market targeted at consumers earlier this year. The Diveo offering was targeted at he 17 million homes that receive satellite signals via the Astra satellite position at 19.2° East
