A+E signs up ad sales house for History Hungary

A+E Networks has signed up an ad sales house to sell spot sales and sponsorship on the Hungarian version of its History channel.

A+E has partnered with local provider R-time to deliver ad sales on the channel. According to the channel provider, History Hungary now reaches over 1.7 million viewers on a monthly basis, up 50% on last year.

Hungarians watch History for an average of 42 minutes per day, which A+E says is longer than any other competitor factual channel. History is currently available in Hungary through major operators RCS & RDS, UPC, UPC Direct and Magyar Telekom.

Izabella Wiley, general manager CEE at A+E Networks, said: “Hungary is one of the most important markets for us in the Central and Eastern Europe region. Over the past 12 months, History Hungary has gained significant market share in viewership and in advertising revenue. We’re confident that together with R-time we will match our creative and commercial aspirations for History, which is the leading factual entertainment brand in the region.”

Gergely Dudás, managing director of R-time, adds: “History has been growing rapidly in the last few months and we are proud to have been selected by A+E Networks as their ad-sales partner. Thanks to its young  viewers with high purchasing power, from advertisers’ perspective History holds  very attractive demographics on the TV market. These audiences naturally fit to R-time channel portfolio.’’
