Ofcom names strategy and research director

UK media and telecoms regulator Ofcom has named Yih-Choung Teh as group director for strategy and research.

He has been a director in Ofcom’s competition group since 2007, working on a wide range of media and telecoms issues.

Over the last three years, he has been responsible for leading on the competition aspects in Ofcom’s major review of digital markets, the Strategic Review of Digital Communications, and their implementation.

Before joining Ofcom, he worked for a strategy consultancy in the telecoms sector, providing policy and strategy advice to public and private sector clients around the world.

He has also held an academic research post in the University of Oxford, having completed a DPhil in Mathematics, researching mathematical models of communication networks. He also has an MA in Mathematics and a Diploma in Mathematical Statistics, both from the University of Cambridge.
