The eSports and gaming channel, which Ginx says is available in over 45 million homes across 80 countries, will launch on Cellcom Israel’s recently launched TV platform.
Cellcom, the biggest Israeli mobile phone operator, which has about 2.8 million subscribers, launched its TV service in 2015.
Michiel Bakker, Ginx TV CEO, said: “We are delighted to launch GINX Esports TV on Cellcom TV and also to add Hebrew to the nine languages we already broadcast in. Israel has a vibrant esports scene and has produced some world-class esports athletes. We look forward to bringing our channel to Cellcom TV subscribers.”
Yaniv Gruenwald, VP of television and content of Cellcom Israel, said: “Cellcom TV offers the most cost effective and innovative television experience, and is the only player who’s adding subscribers in the Israeli television market over the past two years. Now, for the first time on the television screen in Israel, fans of gaming and esports will also enjoy viewing the leading channel in this genre.”
