Polish media group SMPS Media has changed the name of its existing Eska TV music channel to 8TV, which will replace the former service on its existing distribution networks, and has launched a new version of Eska TV with a new licence.
The group has launched 8TV to match the criteria set for its licence by the country’s National Broadcasting Council. The new channel, which appeals to a slightly older demographic with a mix of contemporary, pop, rock and dance music and entertainment programming will take over Eska TV’s slot on digital-terrestrial, cable and satellite networks.
At the same time, SMPS Media has launched a ‘new’ Eska TV, along with an HD version of the same channel, that will be available as a pure music channel via satellite, cable and IPTV networks and the internet.
