RR Media ups Shiran to chairman of the board

RR Media has upped board member Ayal Shiran to the position of chairman of the board, replacing Shlomo Shamir.

Shiran first joined RR Media’s board of directors in March 2014, and is a general partner of technology growth fund, Viola Private Equity. Previously he worked as president of Amdocs Customer Business Group and as division president responsible for the AT&T group of companies – including SBC, Bellsouth and Cingula.

Shamir, who has overseen RR Media since 2011 will remain as a member of the board.

RR Media’s CEO, Avi Cohen, said: “I’d like to congratulate Ayal Shiran on his appointment to chairman of our board of directors. He has been instrumental as a board member over the last couple of years and I look forward to working with him.”
