Proximus added 23,000 TV subscriptions in the third quarter, taking its customer base to 1.72 million – up 10.1% from the previous year.

Announcing its Q3 results, the operator, which was fully rebranded from Belgacom earlier this year, said that revenue from TV was up 14% year-on-year to €83 million. Year-to-date September 2015, the revenue from TV was EUR 243 million, up by 15.6%.

For its customer business unit, Proximus said that its TV numbers were driven by continued subscriber growth for both the Proximus and Scarlet brands.

“For the third quarter, 23,000 TV subscribers in total were added, of which 19,000 unique customers and 4,000 multi-set top boxes,” said Proximus.

It claimed that the number of multi STB customers was less than prior quarters due to the “proactive customer migration to the latest decoders”.

“The recurring TV ARPU grew 3.8% year-on-year to EUR 20.0 driven by the increased uptake of TV options, slightly offset by the TV Replay option which is offered for free in Packs as of July 2015,” according to Proximus.
