Unitymedia providing free WiFi in Stuttgart

Liberty Global-owned German cable operator Unitymedia is providing residents and visitors to the Baden-Württemburg state capital, Stuttgart, with free WiFi access from the start of this summer. 

The operator has teamed up with local organisation Stuttgart Marketing to provide public WiFi in four central squares in the city.

Separately, Unitymedia has upgraded its network in the town of Hilders in eastern Hesse to provide 200Mbps internet access to its subscribers there.

Unitymedia has upgraded its network in Hilders to EuroDOCSIS 3.0, enabling 700 households in the town to access high-speed services.
