Sky commissions 10-part supernatural cop drama

UK pay TV operator Sky has commissioned LuckyMan, a ten-part supernatural cop drama from Stan Lee and the producer of Downton Abbey.

The series stars James Nesbitt (The Missing) as a down on his luck Murder Squad detective who is given a charm that confers upon the wearer the ability to control luck.

Carnival Films is producing the series, which will debut on Sky 1 next year. It is based upon an original idea from Stan Lee and the comic book legend’s Pow! Entertainment is coproducing.

Adam MacDonald, Director of Sky 1: “The show is mysterious, thrilling, energetic and sure to appeal to our customers. I’m honoured that Sky 1 is working with Stan Lee on his first UK TV drama and I can’t wait for our customers to experience the gifts and misfortunes that luck can bring”.

Stan Lee added: “Luck has always been a fascinating subject to me, and I am excited to finally share that fascination with audiences around the world.”
