History expands Eastern European footprint

A+E Networks’ History channel has expanded its footprint in Eastern Europe by launching in Belarus via state telecoms provider Beltelecom.

The launch, which happened yesterday, makes the channel available in nearly a million homes in Belarus, according to A+E.

Programmes that will appear on History in the country include franchises like Pawn Stars, American Pickers, Counting Cars and Mountain Men.

“We’re delighted to bring the highest quality factual entertainment to new audiences in Belarus through this partnership with Beltelecom,” said Dean Possenniskie, managing director, EMEA, A+E Networks.

A+E says that History is now available in more than 330 million households across 160 territories and 38 languages worldwide.
