Liberty Global has selected Irdeto Rights to offer content security for the delivery of content to IP consumer devices.
Irdeto will secure Liberty’s OTT service, which is available free to customers of its internet and TV packages, protecting linear and VoD content as a managed service through the cloud to IP devices.
Liberty’s multiscreen offer is already live in Ireland and the Netherlands, with additional countries due to follow in the coming months.
At the same time, Irdeto is working with Liberty Global to secure content over IP via the set-top-box video gateway.
Irdeto Rights says it provides hardened security on a technology agnostic basis across different DRMs. Irdeto Rights is a core element of Irdeto Multiscreen, a suite of solutions launched at IBC 2013.
