Wuaki.tv joins Samsung WatchON app

Over-the-top video service Wuaki.tv has joined Samsung’s WatchON platform, making its entire catalogue available on the Android mobile and tablet app.

Wuaki said that viewers will be able to rent, purchase, or watch subscription content on-demand through the video tab in the WatchON app.

The app syncs with Samsung smart TVs, allowing users to start watching content on their phone or tablet and then beam it directly to the big screen. In this mode, the app becomes a companion service, offering details of the movie or TV show the viewer is watching.

Wuaki said the Samsung WatchON app is the latest addition to its existing range of device and tablet apps, which includes apps for iPad, iPhones, Samsung, LG and Panasonic Smart TVs and the Xbox One console.

Wuaki.tv, which is owned by Japanese e-commerce giant Rakuten, was founded in Spain in 2009 and now also claims more than 125,000 users in the UK after launching there in September.
