DreamWorks confirms daily YouTube series

Animation studio DreamWorks is launching YouTube Nation, a daily series that will showcase the best new content on the online video site.

YouTube Nation will appear exclusively on YouTube and is the first daily series produced by DreamWorks Animation. It also marks the first time the YouTube brand has been used for a daily programme.

YouTube will market the series and handle advertising sales with DreamWorks handling all aspects of production. US telco Verizon is the show’s lead sponsor. The first instalment will be made available on YouTube today at 8pm US Pacific Time.

“YouTube Nation will shine a light on the platform’s most exciting content and creators, giving videos and channels the best opportunity to grow larger and more dedicated audiences,” said DreamWorks Animation CEO Jeffrey Katzenberg.

Robert Kyncl, YouTube’s head of content and business operations added: “The people at DreamWorks Animation are ideal producers of this show: they really understand the YouTube space, highlighted by their acquisition of [YouTube channel operator] AwesomenessTV last year.”
