Turkish digital TV platform D-Smart has secured a multi-year movie programming agreement with US studio MGM.
The deal gives the Dogan TV Holding-owned D-Smart, which offers frew and pay TV services, exclusive pay TV rights to feature films such as Carrie upcoming sequel The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug.
D-Smart also gets an extensive number of catalogue movies such as Four Weddings and a Funeral, The Pink Panther and Some Like it Hot. These rights include HD and 3D where available.
In addition to linear delivery, D-Smart will also offer the shows to its pay TV and OTT subscribers through digital service D-Smart Blu via smartphones and tablets.
